Kintbury Canal - Volunteers needed

Post date: Jun 13, 2017 7:7:41 PM

Volunteers have made a good start in adopting the stretch of Kennet and Avon Canal as it flows through Kintbury.

Flower boxes have been constructed and planted, a new cabin has been sited for volunteers use, hedges have been laid and plans are taking shape to improve the wooded area between the Canal and the car park with paths to be constructed and more woodland species of plants to be provided.

More volunteers are needed and the next day that help is needed is on Wednesday 21 June 11am - 3pm or as much time as you are able to give. There will also be a volunteers day on Saturday 1 July 11am - 3pm.

No experience is necessary and all tools are provided along with a cup of coffee or tea during breaks.

Just turn up on the day. parking will be available through the double gates at the end of the car park.

Update 25 March 2020 - The usual Wednesday morning at the canal has been suspended for the time being because of the Virus and the need for distances to be kept.
